(draft at Phantom Canyon in Colorado Springs). Black color. Small tan head. Light smoked malt aroma. Roasted and smoked malt flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Fair lacing.

Nov 23, 2009 On draught at brewpub. Light smoke taste -which I suppose is good since I do not like smoked beers. Medium to light body. Was on cask. Nothing memorable here.

Oct 10, 2009 cask at the brewpub - Pours dark brown and smells of smoke and roast malt. It has a smooth, sweet, smoky roast malt flavor. I think it’s just a little too light on flavor, but still good. It’s medium bodied this being the cask version, lightly carbonated.

Sep 20, 2009 Strong rauch-smokiness the overwhelms. Deep brown, boarders black with little head. Slightly smokey, but more sweet. I personally have a hard time getting past the smokiness.

Roast aroma. Small beige head. Black strong in alcohol and smooth on the palate with some dryness in a crisp and bitter burnt roast finish.

Jul 10, 2009 Included in a sampler at brewpub. Tried several beers on a visit to Wynkoop and I THINK this was one of them. Do not remember anything standing out in particular but they were all well done.

Jun 9, 2009 Great nose--rauch-like aroma with big salami and smoke qualities. Roasted smoothness in the flavor and a lot of qualities like an English-made porter. Red hues in teh body. Fruity grape/port notes in the finish. Was served warmer than the other beers--if so, credit to them for adapting to the style. On tap at brewpub.

Apr 17, 2009 Draft Wynkoop 11/4/08-Pours a dark brown almost black. Aroma of bacon, coffee, and smoke. Taste of the same but a little weak. This light to medium bodied brew was nice tasting but a little weak for a porter.
