Enjoyit (1090), Vadum, Denmark Jun 6, 2008 Unclear golden of color with a white head. An aroma with notes of sweets, spice, peach hints and honeymelon. A dry flavor with notes of spice, sweets, fruits and honey hints. Would be lovely if it was less sweet.
fonefan (4333), Ulfborg, Denmark Aug 26, 2008 Draught @ Ølbaren, Copenhagen 2200, Denmark. Unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy, excellent lancing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, citrus, orange, sour green apple limonade, moderate to light heavy cider. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic, and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (140608) cphbeerking (153), København K, Denmark Aug 25, 2008 Big, bold and powerful, this saison (could be a strong belgian ale too) makes its presence felt right from the start. It’s frothy, bubbly and in-yer-face, this. I quite liked the manly presence of this quaffable beer. By no means as elegant a version as a Belgian’d do, but most enjoyable in it’s own right. Bring it on, guys, let’s hear more from you. Marsiblursi (1400), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 18, 2008 (Bottle) Pours hazy pale golden. The aroma is spicy, mild citric, dusty, toasted, alcohol-ish and banana estery with a floral sweetness in the background. The flavour is mild spicy and light citrus fruity with a good deal of warming alcohol. Medium sweet and light bitter/dry. Spicy aftertaste. Medium to full bodied.
BeerBiker (1172), Odense, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 Bottle from Scheffel. Nice fruit in the saison-way. Some weak spices, fresh grapes, lemon, dryness, fruit, sourness in the good way, not too sweet, but some heavy alcohol presence. henrikb (1059), Aarhus, Denmark Aug 1, 2008 Rating from middle of June 2008 - Perfect deep golden hazy body with a beautiful white head; Pleasant big full nose, lots of warmer full fruits, fresher sour fruits as well as the yeast being more apparent would be appreciated; Very full body, very very good but not 100% saison to me, a little less alcohol and a little less malt fill that could give way to lots of yeast and acid notes; Long near perfect alcohol and malt warm finish with sweeter fruit notes, again incredible but not really saison to me. Very drinkable and very well made, as was the Strobel-Saison and it was a bit more saison to me. Thanks!
