madvike (301), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Nov 4, 2009 Bottle - Pours dark and beautiful, with a big, bubbly tan head. Aroma is clean, with malty sweetness almost like an Oktoberfest, with honey and light fruit notes. Taste is chocolate and bread, with a light floral hop finish. Light and easy to drink, I could see myself taking several of these down without even knowing it. Very nice. badnloose (99), North Hollywood, California, USA Oct 31, 2009 Full and thick mouthfeel, beautifully jet black pour, spot-on use of malt (erupting into notes of roasted fillintheblank), and a finish which prompts a return to drinking. Chapel (327), Levittown, New York, USA Oct 30, 2009 Dark pour with an active tan head that sticks to the glass. It is think and syrupy sweet with an all around molasses flavor. phaleslu (420), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Oct 19, 2009 12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours near black with a rocky tan head that fades quickly but laces the glass. Aroma is of roasted malt, molasses, licorice, yeast, and brown sugar. The flavor is sweet, roasty, and resiny. Light-medium bodied, and a slick, watery mouthfeel. Quick, dry, resin finish. shanepardue (107), Raytown, Missouri, USA Oct 17, 2009 Flavor of a lager, but black as a porter. Dark malt tones with honey. May not be a beer I revisit often, but for a black lager, it’s good twindog (69), Hampstead, Maryland, USA Oct 11, 2009 I had this beer at fogo de chou, a brazilian restaurant, this beer pours very dark with a huge brown head, this is a great beer to drink while eating meat. Over all this is a graet beer. monkeychugg55 (207), Joliet, Illinois, USA Oct 2, 2009 Pours a very dark brown with a rocky tan head. Nice lacing. The aroma has a lot of roasted barley, some molasses, anise, and light grain. Interesting flavor. Mostly sweet roast and coffee, with a bit of tart dark fruit. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Abrupt finish that leaves a flavor I can’t quite explain. Weird beer, but in a great way. sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Sep 30, 2009 EBF08. Dark red brown, beige head. Aroma is roasted barley and citrus notes. Flavour is sweet caramel and brown sugar.
