An opaque, full-bodied black lager with mild bitterness. Extravagant treacle and anise aromas. Rich and creamy, well balanced sweet notes and hints of tartness with exceptional mouthfeel, in two words: Black Silk. Imported from Exotic Brazil.

Bottle. A clear, dark brown leaves a nice tan head. Some cooked vegetables, roasted malt and a touch of dried fruits in the aroma. The flavor relies on roasted malt, but there’a also a slightly coffeeish touch and some notes of cooked vegetables. Medium body and quite fizzy in the mouth. I had higher expectations for this, but that was maybe wrong of me. It’s a boring beer, the kind there’s thirteen on a dozen of. (080731)

Black with a light brown head that quickly diminishes. A slighty metallic aroma with a sweet flavor. After drinking this beer I was left with wanting no more, maybe because of the sweetness. I give it an overall score of three because Its an unusual brew.

Bottle. Aroma of metal, roast malts. Dark brown-black hue with an average sized tan head that mostly diminished and left great lace. Flavor is sweet and caramel with roast malt chocolate. Palate is medium-full bodied, oily and almost lively. Nice and smooth but the macro metal/grain aroma and flavors detract. Some fruitiness to this brew and the creamy mouth feel is rather nice. Too bad the crappy lager flavor ruins such a promising brew.

Bottled (thanks Papsoe!). Blac colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, rubbert and mild notes of fruityness. Flavour is mildly roasted malts, wood and some caramel. Watery and not very strong flavours/aromas. Some underlying sweetish sour grainyness all the way through.
