Jun 8, 2008 Pours a jet black with a brown head. Malty aroma, with a little sugar coming through. Thin bodied, but very smooth taste, with a hint of sweetness, but a very malty brew. Very smooth finish.

Jun 6, 2008 Pours a dark black body, but as mentioned before- hardly tastes like its appearance. Medium bodied, very smoooth and a lighter mouthfeel. Aroma like a lager, and probably one of the lightest shwarzbiers i have ever tasted.

May 30, 2008 very sweet aroma, almost too sweet. totally dark, brown head. nice taste, but not much of it. sort of intense licorice, some sugar. nice but simple and relatively unbalanced. average palate, a bit sticky in the mouth. Overall a strange beer that doesn’t taste bad, but doesn’t blow me away either.

May 24, 2008 Bottle from bierkoning. Clear dark color, short off-white head. Aroma of hop, some licorice and coffee. Bitter malty taste. Bit sticky palate.

May 21, 2008 I can’t say it poured with any head to speak of, just a little tan foam. Looks like Coca Cola. Ever so slight aroma of dark chocolate. And nothing stands out about this beer, except that it’s not bad. I think more flavors and aromas could come out with warming, except that the palate wouldn’t stand up to it. I detect just the slightest bitterness with a quick sour bite, then it’s finished. There’s more in the aftertaste. Sub-standard.

May 18, 2008 Black and slightly sweet. Reasonable body with a gentle texture. Slightly roasted. Certainly way better than anything else I have tried from Brazil.

May 16, 2008 Pours like root beer with a cola looking head. Definite herbal and licorice flavor at the beginning but not overpowering and goes down clean. Aroma is very clean. A really nice example of a Schwartzbier. Wow... the Brazillians have a great brew on their hands.
