I guess my expectations were too high. This aroma was of a dark beer but slightly sweet and slightly more faint. Appearance was dark brown almost black and the head was a dark vanilla color. Flavor was kind of watery. Palate, ok. Good beer overall. I will probably drink it again!! BMan1113VR (2894), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Frothy, light brown head that goes away. Taste is bland with walnuts. A bit buttery. Watery texture with lively carbonation. alobar (1026), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Bottle. Poured a very dark brown. Very small, tan head, but good retention. Aroma of malts and coffee. Low carbonation. Flavor was a little underwhelming (much less than I expect from a black beer), but pleasant. Coffee and malt flavors with a nice finish. Good, but not great.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2008 clear nearly black pour topped by a beige head that fades to a film and leaves behind some decent lacing. metallic malty aroma with notes of molasses, lager yeast and light herbal hoppiness... kinda smells like malt liquor! slightly sweet palate with flavors of molasses, malt, nuts and butterscotch. it has some licorice root-like numbing effects on the tongue. it has a slightly acidic finish. light to medium bodied. creaminess develops slightly as it is sloshed around. jjuf1853 (471), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Shocked. Quality beer from Coors? Oh! It’s on a different continent than Golden, Colorado. Makes sense now. This is a decent drink. Smooth and subtlely spicy with a mild sour body but sweet upfront presence. A little licorice note. Smells like hell. Mild porter essence is a watery body.
