Couldn’t really pick up anything with my whole honker in the glass. A bit of roasted malt. Pour was a deep dark brown lingering on black with no head. Taste was very sublte. Could pick up some roasted malt but really much flavor. Carbonation was nice. There is a hint of dark fruit in the end. OK. eboats (887), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Bottled. Poured dark brown with a medium brown head. The aroma was a mystery to me as I could not isolate any one smell. Tasted like bread in liquid form that had gone flat. Watery body. SledgeJr (2960), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Pours black in color with a dark beige head that is slightly fizzy. Uniquely strong molasses and sulfurous aroma. The body is lighter than you’d expect from such a rich aroma. Slightly chalky. The flavor is disappointing, as the aroma is the best part. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA

I thought while it may not have had the depth of character, it was very drinkable. Roasted malt, sweetness, some dark fruits. The body was medium-full and creamy. Finish was extremely clean. mmmbeer (748), Austin, Texas, USA

Aroma of lightly roasted malt and a little yeast. Hits the mouth with a light defined body that carries through to the finish. Very drinkable and enjoyable in both hot and cold weather. ogivlado (3070), Zagreb, Croatia

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 14, 2007 Bottle. No too bad actually. Quite sweet, with some soft roasty malt characters. Kind of rminds me of Tooheys Old or something like that, but perhaps richer and sweeter. Has some caramely sweetness throughout, with little bitterness in the finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2007 Updated: Oct 11, 2007Bottle at my neighbor’s B-day party. He had to entertain some Brazilian clients and had this left over. Pours a deep brown black with a brown head. Faint aroma of chocolate and lager yeast. Medium bodied with a very slight creaminess to the texture. Initial flavor of chocolate, caramel, and a hint of molasses. The sweetness blends in perfectly without being overdone.Finish has some toastiness, and well as some sour lagery notes. A fairly solid example of the style, and well done for being mass produced. Under-rated.
