An opaque, full-bodied black lager with mild bitterness. Extravagant treacle and anise aromas. Rich and creamy, well balanced sweet notes and hints of tartness with exceptional mouthfeel, in two words: Black Silk. Imported from Exotic Brazil.

this beer is obsidian in color. decent carbonation, but goes down smooth. you know this beer is seasoned with anise by the little bits that settle in the bottom.

9-22-07. Rich brown-black color. Subtle aroma of roasted creamy milk chocolate. Malty sweet taste. More carbonated than I expected such a dark beer to be. Not heavy because so carbonated - light and airy.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

Pours a black brew with some ruby red a medium brown head. Smells superficially sweet, one dimensional, sugar, some molasses. Tastes sweet too, sugary, highly carbonated. Not a bad taste. Just an average beer overall.

Light black, slightly less than opaque color. Smell is light skunky roasted malt with a hint of chocolateyness. Taste is sweet, sweet roasty malt, with more body than most schwarzbiers. Maybe a touch sweeter than necessary and consequently a bit cloying. May try again some day.

Not much going on here. Thick opaque black pour. Pretty much ends there. Roasted Malts, black hops and some coffee.. The women are better.

It is silky as it says, but I am not sure there is much more to it. It kinda reminds me a little of Negra Modelo in the after taste and its light palate.

12oz bottle at Barney’s Beanery in Santa Monica. Good brazilian black lager. Pours jet black, rich roasted malty aroma and rich roasted taste. Excellent brew.
