An opaque, full-bodied black lager with mild bitterness. Extravagant treacle and anise aromas. Rich and creamy, well balanced sweet notes and hints of tartness with exceptional mouthfeel, in two words: Black Silk. Imported from Exotic Brazil.

Nice schwarzbier in a bottle at a Churrascaria in Long Beach. Bartender was a Brazileiro who told me that they only recently began to distribute this in Brazil, it was originally made only for export. Good non-wateryness for a schwarzbier.

bottle. Poured jet black (surprise) with little tan head that quickly dissipated. Sweet malts on the nose blend with almost rose-like hop notes, molasses. Lager-like clearness and light body, rather thin but to be expected. An unusual curio, though nothing particularly interesting.

Bottle. Nice big brown head with good duration. Color is close to black. Aroma is roast malt, caramel and syrup. Taste is sweet and syrupy with a nutty flavor.

Pours black with small light brown head like a porter or a stout. Aroma is light and little if any roasted smells detected, actually kind of sweet smelling. Woah! What the hell? The taste is very sweet as well my last Schwarzbier didn’t taste nearly this sweet. This has sweet malts but not the roasted, nutty, robust flavor I was expecting. Granted, it wouldn’t be as much as a porter or stout but at least a little something would be nice! Little to no hop profile detected and a bit too thin. Still, this beer is very drinkable and I would have this again.
