| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 5, 2009 A dark beer with no head that does not look even close to the frothy one in the picture. Aroma was lightly roasted malt. Taste was like a weak watered down porter with no flavor. A easy beer to drink & by the way it looks you would think it has more taste to it but lacks any flavor profile. drowland (1411), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

That clean musty lager smell that leads to a nice smooth flavor that is almost a bit light for a dark lager... Nice and easy drinking, but not quite roasty or complex enough for a good Schwarz. Gethinbeer (1003), Nova Scotia, Canada
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Sweet malt aroma. Slightly roasted flavour. Black appearance with a thin white lace. Smooth texture. Fruit berries. Pawola22 (752), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 31, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black body with a finger-width, brown, creamy head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of thick lacing. Aroma is mostly fruity malts with a light earthy roasty and just a bit of chocolate. Flavor is very sweet, fruity malts with a brown sugar sweetness. A touch of dry roasted bitterness and slightly sour fruit finishes this off. Light bodied with a short aftertaste. Overall, for a lager its relatively tasty. Maybe a little too sweet though without enough roasts or spices to go with the mainly fruity malts. dkachur (2376), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Pours a dark brown color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is grainy with notes of coffee, caramel and nuts. Taste is caramel, sweet malts, light nutty notes. Thin-medium bodied. hughie (3061), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 29, 2009 Black with a small beige head. Slight, malty aroma. The taste is very sweet with hints of fruit, nut and coffee. Very slight dryness. The whole thing seems designed for the guy who doesn’t like his beers dark. Nothing scary here, old chap! But the result is passionless and flaccid. NJBeerman013 (778), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 23, 2009 Bottle. Deep reddish brown in color, with a small, thick chocolate head. The aroma is sugary sweet, with notes of sweet coffee, herbal notes, and dried fruit. Upon tasting, this beer has a rich, full mouthfeel, flavor notes of sweet, ripe dried fruit, sweet dark cocoa, and somewhat of a dry, toasted finish. Really good and worth a try. spiritsbeerman (47), Nicholasville, Kentucky, USA
