Full mollases taste. Nice and sweet with a crisp acrid ending. The balance of this swings from one end to the other. I think that the this one has peaked or I have an old bottle. I think the lattitud of this brew has turned the stout goodness to glue smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Aroma of malt and a bit of yeasty fruit. Nearly opaque brown color with a vigorous tan head. Starts with medium mouthfeel, and a slight sweetness. Not much toast or chocolate. Very smooth. After a bit it turns dryish. It seems that if there’s a while between swallows, the sugar gets away and a bit of bitter is present. Likerighteous (120), Pflugerville, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Dark dark red. Sour corn, malty aroma. Slight fruity and stale cereal flavor a hint of licorice and medicine flavor. I would only seek it out if it was the only colored beer in a cowboy bar. joanabarbosa (47), Goiânia, Brazil

It is dark and the head has a beautiful brown with a soft texture. The aroma and the flavour are sweet caramel. Velvety swallow. Not a complex beer, but a beer to drink every day. twindadplus2 (417), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 22, 2006 Bottle. Deep black with faint ruby highlights and a small, papery tan head. Aroma is thin but I pick up coffee malt, cocoa and an earthy spiciness. Flavor is sweet and fruity up front with roasted coffee malt coming right behind it and a bit of licorice. Mild roasted finish with a body that seems on the watery end of medium. Pretty good but just a bit too subdued compared to some of the best of this style. tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 20, 2006 Bottle. Pours somewhere between ruby and black with a one finger tan head. The aroma is weak toffee, caramel, and maybe a bit of cocoa, and a good dose of earth. The flavors of raisin and plum dominate, but are not dense. A bit of roastiness comes out from time to time. It has enough hops to give it some bite, but contributes a fairly neutral flavor. A bit of a Pepsi taste at the end. Not bad. scanovajr (392), Stanford, California, USA
