harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 14, 2006 @ Trader Joes - Decent little pale ale, a little darker and richer than I expected, with some great maltiness. Slightly spicy and sweet, very drinkable. jjpm74 (2953), Connecticut, USA Aug 22, 2005 Pours copper with a slight white head. Smells of brown sugar and pepper. Tastes of caramel, rose hips and toortsie rool lollipops. Sweet but nutty finish. beerguy101 (3478), Newark, California, USA Aug 9, 2005 12oz bottle. Light amber color. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruit and malt, with a touch of citrus. A light to medium bodied American Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly grapefruity and citrusy. A milder APA, not very hoppy, but hoppier than an amber. Not a bad session beer, very drinkable, but not that interesting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. jackbocracken (36), Washington, USA Jul 9, 2005 Poured with a rather large, bubbly head. Sweet, malty caramel aroma. Not too heavy nor too light in body, I’d say the package description was spot on. Not as hoppy as APAs tend to be, the malty sweetness put it at what I’d say would be an amber. Good lacing on the glass. Solid, drinkable summer brew. No complaints here. Can’t say I can taste the citrus they claim, however. DA (2425), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA May 19, 2005 Pours a very clear amber with a tall white head. Aroma has a nice sweet malt and a light zesty hop smell. Taste starts with sweet caramel, very clean, with a very balanced finish. A bit light on the palate, but very drinkable brew. Less hops than i was expecting, almost more like an amber.
