Yakurai Shinko Kosya Dunkel

(Nov 05) A clear dark copper color with a foamy tan head. Scent of buttered whole grain toast with a touch of Nutella on it. A slight tangy scent in the background. Biscity with herbal hops, slightly sweet up front with a tangy middle and follow. A coppery bitter aftertaste. As I’ve mentioned before, Japanese Dunkels all seem to share this tangy quality to them. I haven’t had enough different beers in this style to know if they’re on target with it or if they are all doing a localized style of Dunkel.
