Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jan 1, 2005 Updated: Dec 10, 2005 Reddish-amber colour with slight haze, this year’s incarnation of the popular Christmas brew has the aroma of raisins, toffee and a little bit of bubblegum. The flavour is sweet, but there is a juicy maltiness that lends vibrancy to the body and keep things moving along. Slightly chewy towards the finish. The alcohol is well-masked. Made with the Westmalle yeast.

2005 is the same beer, made with a different yeast (White Labs golden). It’s still fruity and bubblegummy, but less complex I think. Woodier and nuttier though.
JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jan 4, 2004 Updated: Jan 10, 2005This beer poured a rich, chocolate brown colour with ample tan coloured head that quickly dissipated. The nose was primarily sweet malt and caramel with trace of hoppiness. Same spicy yeast as in the Decade. Toasted malts feature prominently in the character of this beer. Very full bodied and surprisingly refreshing. Crit (2242), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Dec 14, 2003 Deep amber color, lasting beige head.Toasty malt nose.Huge, complex, lightly roasted malt profile.Mild alcohol heat. Great body
