DuffMan (1915), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 4, 2008 Pours an orange gold with a generous densely foamy head. Sweetly alcoholic aroma, corny , certainly not in any way "extra malty". Sickly sweet palate with a weird astringently bitter finish, brief and very dry. radiomgb (1730), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jul 1, 2008 Clear golden in colour, quickly dissipating white coloured head, very light lacing. The aroma is very sweet, dominating alcohol with some very stale pale malts. The sweetness and alcohol hit you first in the flavour with some apples, pale malts, cardboard, vegetables, slight sourness. Sweet alcoholic mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. Finishes harsh, very sweet and highly alcoholic.
There is no way that this is an Eisbock, this has malt liquour written all over it. Very harsh, it seems like it has double the amount of alcohol that it actually has.
473ml can from the LCBO in Belleville, Ontario.
Opened on January 27, 2008.
No date.
wilderthanyou (306), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Jun 14, 2008 Pours a golden yellow with a thick white foamy head that dissolves down to nothing. The aroma is corn syrupy sweetness. The flavour is not bock in anyway except maybe the sweetness, but even that is not done right. A mostly corn syrupy sweet beer with a bitter soapey finish. robinvboyer (980), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 6, 2008 cheap sweet grainy aroma, sweet corny flavour with lots of alcohol, and a HUGE metallica aftertatse. Yuck. THis is not an eisbock, it looks like a run of the mill plae lager, and to he honest it tatses like one with just more booze.
