Commercial Description:
Our flagship is keg-conditioned ale with a sack full of British East Kent Goldings hops in each keg. This ale was created to offer true cask conditioned ale flavor without the hassle of extensive cellaring. True British cask conditioned flavor is a complex, lively balance between malt, hops, and fruity esters.

This beer struck me as good, but not excellent, and as very generic for its style. It had a rich malt flavor and strong hop presence and was balanced. The hops, however, strike me as merely bitter and hoppy...no complexity. The malt too, while present, lacks complexity. Towards the end of this brew, a mild but slightly unpleasant sourness emerges. I’d drink it again, but only if it were handed to me or I was somewhere where there were no better options available.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear red/brown color with a medium white head. A light nose of caramel malts and toasted notes. The flavor is nice; smooth toasted malts, nuttiness, caramel. Easygoing and very drinkable.

On cask at Friday the Firkenteenth at the Grey Lodge Pub. Pours a translucent copper with a cloudy white head. The aroma is nothing special, mostly yeast and grains. Flavor is soggy grains, bread, English yeast. Watery finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark copper body with a small thin off-white head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is sort of a generic fruity ale yeastiness with a touch of light hops. Toasty and biscuity malt below. The flavor is a little grainy with a soggy wet maltiness and minimal floral hops. Some yeastiness on the finish. Medium bodied with a little coarseness to it. Moderate fizzy carbonation. This used to be my go-to beer when I lived in Philly back around 1999-2000, but this has changed quite a bit since then, and not in a good way.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy dark amber with a one finger, off white creamy head. Aroma dominated by caramel malt, some hops, and a light fruit boquet. Taste is quite malty sweet, with decent hop flavor throughout and a quite strong bitter finish.

Bottle. 12 oz. Pours murky brown with a thick, off-white head. Aroma of sugar, malts, hops, raisins, and hints of citrus. Thick body with a crisp finish. Good local ale.
