| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 18, 2004 Updated: Apr 25, 2007Rerate Keep accidentally purchasing this stuff! - Just plain awful now - hard to finish the whole bottle - throat clenching bad. 2nd rerate was 2.5 Rerate Light, pale golden, sparking color with a thin white head that sticks around for awhile. Typical East Euro lager aroma, lot of Saaz hops, a bit of wet paper bag, not offensive. Flavor actually has some honey sweetness to it and is quite refreshing. Leaning more towards pilsener than a pale lager. Alcohol flavor makes a brief appearance on the back end. Decent mouthfeel, has a bit of creaminess to it. I can see why this is considered the "Premium" of the Yarpivo Line. All around a decent Russian lager. Original 2.8 Has a bit of a Saaz-induced hoppy aroma - just this side of skunky. Light golden pale appearance with a fluffy white head - just a tad bit of lacing. Refreshing flavor - nothing offensive here. A bit of honey sweetness in the aftertaste. Tart mouthfeel. Goes down smooth - stays somewhat strong to the finish. JPDIPSO (4906), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 18, 2004 Light golden color with a moderate dense white head. Light malt and dry hay aroma. Light candi and alcohol sweetness send their greetings from the start. Light caffine bitterness mid swallow. Tastes like a malt liqour with just a touch less alcohol then most. Interesting. Spritzy and oily on the tongue. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2004 Nice golden color,small white head that faded quickly.The aroma was malty semi-sweet with maybe a hint of fruit,and slight caramel note.The flavor wasn't that bad at all.Malty and lightly caramel with a decent hop presence but mild,mildly sweet with a slight bite at the end.It's definately nothing special but at a $1.50/Bot i could see trying this again. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 25, 2003 The head was large sized and white with fine-large sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was transparent and it had a lot of lively and fast rising carbonation with a yellow hue. The nose was lightly malty, sweet fruity and some citrus notes. The flavor was sweet, a tad sour and malty. The mouthfeel was smooth, watery and thin making for a light bodied beer. This beer had no lacing. This is a beer that I was not the least impressed with and one that I would not recommend. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Dec 25, 2003 This bottled brew poured a very large head of foamy finely sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent carbonated straw yellow colred body and a poor lace. If I didn't know better, I'd say it looked just like an American Standard such as Bud Light. The aroma was a mild malt hop one with a touch of something else. The mouthfeel was smooth with a very mild hop bite in the finish. Mostly malty in flavor, it also had a touch of sweetness like honey. ARMed (486), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA
