Plain, and versatile for food pairings. Pleasant. Sonicdescent (382), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA

Fizzy and yellow in the pour, not much going on there. Tiny hop bite in the taste, refreshing. OD40oz (603), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA

beer. Had a grainy taste and a metallic aftertaste. cheapdark (2047), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA

Clear pale yellow ubiquitous appearance. Friendly aroma, yeasty and all. Taste is simple and refreshing, no ill attributes so far. Almost lemony or citrusy at times and carries with it a definite pilsner attitude with the slightly sharp lager hops. Rather enjoyable cheap pale lager experience. $1 per bottle at J.R.s in Rochester Pa. Looking forward to more of these. The lower alky beer character is reflected in its kind attitude. Goes down way too easy for a lager lover. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

This is a Helles with some subtlety and possessing something other than alcohol taste (which is sadly sort of a Yarpivo trademark). Head retention sucks, and the beer in the glass looks like urine, BUT the aroma is a nice grassy one and the flavor is a tad herbal. Dominion Lager this isn't, but cut these Russian folks some slack. By Soviet standards, this passes muster as an acceptably hay-ish brew with a light malt body. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 30, 2003 A step above the usual Russian lagers - has a bit more body - I see it is classified as a Helles - that explains the extra body. Bit of a buttery aroma with some doughy accents - light golden appearance - thin white quickly dissipating white head. Crisp flavor with some slight spicy undertones. Detect a bit of sweet honey as well. Turns a tad metallic near the end but still a decent Russian beer. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Pretty clean tasting. Light pale malt and a light sweetness. It’s very simple, but it really isn’t bad.
