Musty aroma was sourly hopped and oatmeal. Sweet-tart flavor, like cranberry fruit juice with a latent cinnamon spiciness. Not bad... would pair well with a baloney sandwich and chips.

Subtle aromas of roasted malts and a sweet nuttiness are echoed in the flavor, along with a surprizing touch of chocolate. It’s a bit watery with a wanting finish, but it’s definitely a drinkable beer.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 23, 2004 Pours a clear brown with a nice white, creamy head and good streaks of beer--looks like a right, proper dunkel to me, kids. Slightly nutty nose with a dab of sweetness and roast. A bit of a floral character comes out later. Very weak on flavor (the aroma is very mild too) somewhat watery but decidedly drinkable in quantity. Not bad. Ernest (4511), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 4, 2004 Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is clear medium brown. Aroma is lightly malty (cereal, nuts, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers), with a light note of chemicals. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Slightly industrial, but not abyssmal. Surprisingly good-sized and retentive head. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA

Nutty malt flavor, most beery of all Yarpivo brews. | 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 8, 2004 Someone at the brewery must have woke up on this one. This was actually not a light yellow color, but more of an amber hue. Some malt flavors. Not a dunkel, but for this brewery to get any variation is a major accomplishment. omhper (12298), Stockholm, Sweden
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 21, 2004 Bottled. Nut brown, creamy head. Sweet and papery. Very lightly roasty with medium body and quite mellow mouthfeel. Low-medioum bitterness. Not a terrible lot of character - a typical inustrial beer.
