On cask 1/26/08 at the Atlanta Cask Ale tasting: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet toasty grainy dark caramel with some earthy chocolate notes. Starts lightly sweet with a touch of light fruitiness and some earthy dark chocolate toward a drier, thinner finish with a touch of piny resiny hops. A decent porter.

On cask at Atlanta Cask Ale Festival. Aroma is decent with a faint roasted malt and caramel character. Overall a little too light bodied for me and slightly astringent as well. Must be those damn English hops. Just have never enjoyed them too much and certainly not in too large a quantity in my porter.

Cask Ale at Sweetwater. Poured dark brown. Aroma of big chocolate. Taste of sweet malt and chocolate. Body was a bit thin. Finished well with a good amout of bitterness.
