The inital tatse reminded me of Anchor Steam beer. The dark color and malty aroma was your first intro to this ale. It has a medium body and some malty sweetness. The finish was smooth. puggy211 (596), cordova, Tennessee, USA

Nose is malty, nutty and vanilla. Taste is very nice, this one is mostly about the malts. Chocolate, vanilla, corn, almonds and honey. Some subtle floral hops in the finish...but very subtle. Body is light/medium, carbonation is high. I am surprised at how delicious this beer is! beerguy101 (3971), Newark, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2007 This alt bier pours a deep cooper gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is roasty malts, chocolate and earthy. A medium bodied alt beer. Malts are caramel, slightly bready and chocolate. Hops are slightly earthy. Nice balance. Perhaps a touch thin, maybe. Carbonation is good. Nice beer, it has enough flavor to be interesting, yet its mainstream enough for a BMC drinker. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 4, 2007 This seemed to be a popular choice in town, but I wasn’t overly impressed. Had that bland, soury taste that really ruins a beer like this. Despite its faults, I managed to drink my fill of this brew in Nashville. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 31, 2007 5/03/2007: Yazoo Dos Perros has a clear dark brown color. The aroma has toasted malts and faint hops. Tastes like a somewhat typical dark lager. It is smooth and easy to drick with a light to medium-light body. Drinkable, but nothing special. An altbeir? Hardly...
12 oz bottle (Bottled on Nov 3, 2006) from decaturstevo. Thanks Stevo! Shared with Tmoney99 at Mainstrasse Village Pub in Covington, Kentucky. charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 28, 2007 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Not sure what to expect from this one. The note on the packing suggests its a Vienna-style lager yet it also clearly states it is an ale. Reddish-brown with thin white head. Aroma is of chocolate and yeast rolls. Taste is sweet with a roasted edge but a minimal of esters. Where are the hops? The body is quite thin and the finish is indistinct. Let’s put it this way, if this beer was offered at my local Mexican restaurant, I would order it with my meal but otherwise it’s unimpressive. alexsdad06 (1106), Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2007 Bottle from decaturstevo. Thanks Steve. Pours a clear brownish amber with a small fizzy off white head. There was a slight malty aroma with a hint of citrus there as well. Very easy to drink, light body and no off flavors. There is a malty sweetness with some citrus in the finish. I don’t get much bitterness at all, except late in the finish.
