Commercial Description:
Many Mexican beer styles today are descendants of old Austrian styles, from when Austria ruled Mexico in the late 19th century. Our Dos Perros is made with German Munich malt, English Pale malt, and Chocolate malt, and hopped with Perle and Saaz hops. To lighten the body, as many Mexican brewers do, we add a small portion of flaked maize. The result is a wonderfully bready malt aroma, balanced with some maize sweetness and a noble hop finish.

We searched for this one when we were in Memphis - the brewery is named after a town not too far from my home and these beers aren’t available in MS yet. I was rather disappointed with this selection. It pours a medium brown without much head. Not much in the away of aroma and the taste was very weak and watery.

Draft at Gsylord Opryland in Nashville - poured a dark brownish amber in color with a small whitish head. Does not have a strong aroma, but is slight of some malt with not hops to speak of. Too carbonated. Body is very light to non-existent. Flavor is somewhat malty, but that is slightly overpowered by the corn adjunct taste. Not totally unpleasant, but disapointing.

Brownish copper, no head. Smoky, earthy aroma, with a bit of black walnuts. Nutty, creamy flavor, with atouch of caramel and chocolate. Crisp finish. Well made and tasty, but not really my style.

Draft. Aroma was a bit subdued by the smoky environment but a general maltiness was evident. A little lack luster in appearance with no head on a translucent brown body making it look a bit like dirty water. No lacing was present. Malty nutty flavor with a light body and thin mouth feel.

The two perros ale had sort of a weak smell to it. The taste was that of a regular ale. Since i am a little more into the IPA’a this was kind of weak. Not a bad tast or drinkability just not the usual kick i like. But not a bad beer at all.

12oz bottle. malts of over-ripened fruit and forest floor in the winter. almost a fermented corn aroma. pours like a nice cafe americano. taste is a bit of tangy fruit, grapefruit tartness, and mild hoppy presence. the finish is a bit weak, but the hops attempt to pull it through with the tangy tartness still lingering in the background. trust me, it’s not the best middle tn has to offer. i live here, i know.

A clean brown pour with an off white almost tan head. An aroma of corn and malt. A decent maltiness with no off flavors at all. Very clean slightly more carbonation than I like but not bad.
