Deep brown body, thin cream head. Toasty nose with notes of chocolate and caramel. Bitter, toasty body, leathery, with leafy hops and caramely malts. Enjoyable ’’everyday drinking’’ beer. The flavor contains some nutmeg, caramel, and chocolate. The flavor is rather sweet with some chocolate and nutty flavors showing through. The finish is oddly a bit on the dry side. Overall a decent beer. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

Clear light brown, chocolate and nutty aromas, bock like. Light and watery in the finish but a nice mellow malt bitter bite. Re-rate on tap at the brewery. Dark brown-orange with a thin white head. Aroma of cocoa, caramel, grassy hops. Taste is more forward caramel over cocoa notes. Original rating 6:3:5:3:13 Pastor (509), Maine, USA

Bottle poured into a pint glass produced a two finger tan head that turned to a thin lace
The body of the brew was a dark brown and clear
Aromas of funk, Yes that is the best I can describe it. Coco and malts are there as well a really unique nose on this
The flavors are very sweet malt some nuttiness to it. Good brown ale, medium mouthfeel and a slight dry finish
Drinkability is ok; I would order a few of these at a bar. I was looking for a little more from this one considering the writing on the label said it was a Mexican style, to me it was a good nut brown

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 23, 2008 Hm, I couldn’t quite see the point of a "Mexican amber" beer, as they described it while offering it at Brewgrass. Clear brown/amber pour with thin head of big bubbles. Simply tasted like a sweet malty lager to me; slightly metallic. Didn’t really do it for me. I like the label, though.
