Yazoo Fresh Hop IPA

Beige head with an orange-copper body. Floral and resinous. Good malt presence. Sticky and bitter.

Draft at brewery. Pours hazy orange with an off white head. Unfiltered with an earthy texture, medium bodied. Pale malt background with a flavor of grapefruit and orange in the forefront- from the hops. Nice amount residual sweetness. Finish is dry with a lingering bitter citrus rind on the palate.

Draft at Yazoo tap room. Orange in the glass with a thin off-white head that left good lace down the glass. Big floral hop aroma. The flavor is mainly grapefruit peels with a slight malt backing. Medium body. Very decent.

Actually entered this, and then forgot to rate it. On tap at the taproom. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma of sweetish malt and some floral hops. Flavor was very vinous, with a good malt balance. This isn’t much more than a fresh hopped version of their pale ale (Amarillo hops used in both), but a much better beer in my estimation.

On draft at the 12th Street Taphouse. They had a single keg delivered for one night only. Unfortunately due to the poor lighting, it was nearly impossible to judge the color. Sweet honey and fruity hop aroma. The flavor was very floral. Medium chewy body was a little syrupy but had medium carbonation. Sweet hoppy finish. Solid brew.
