First of all..THEY NEED TO BOTTLE THIS! I could drink this anytime of the year. Tastes are very equal between clove and banannas.

Sampled at the music city brewers festival. First of all, thanks to Yazoo for providing a rinse cooler for the mugs. Other tents had assloads of water, but did not bother to rinse mugs. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a nice white head. Nice bananna clove esters, which was a nice surprise. The texture is a tad light, but still flavorful. Semi sweet, with flavors of wheat malt , banana, clove lemon...all of things you should expect out of a bavarian hefeweizen. Finishes light an clean, but with a tad too much clove for my personal tastes. One of the better showings from the small micros at the festival. I enjoyed this, because this had the esters and phenols found in a true bavarian hefeweizen. In a perfect world, I would have liked a little more malt backbone and sweetness. But that is just a personal note, not a flaw with the beer. A gold a the GABF, and deservingly so. Now only if they would bottle this (unfiltered of course), I ’d stock my fridge with this. Very under rated, and I am very picky with my hefes. UPDATE: This is now bottled. However, I have yet to have a bottle that matches the beer I had on draft at the music city brewers festival. I think the key to this beer is getting it as fresh as possible, and on tap. Don’t get me wrong, the bottle is still good.

The Hefe seems to be the favorite among those who I talk about Yazoo beers with. I’m in agreement with most in that it is a very refreshing and tangy beer. As other reviewers point out, very high on bananna and lemon taste. Not one of my favorite styles, but I like it for what it is.

This is one of my favorite Hefeweizens so I enjoy it frequently in warm weather. The citrus and coriander flavorings add to the flavor, especially the finish, and they make it completely unneccesary to "hang fruit" (lemon) on the side of the glass. First pours are slightly cloudy, becoming a pleasant clear light amber with minimal residue.

Very dry and doughy. A bit briny with no prominent esters. Very smooth, lightly bittered. Medium to medium-light bodied, quick finish. Muddy honey-green-gold.

Still not one of my favorites styles, but I would order another one next time @ the flying saucer in Nashville. The color and aroma were typical for a Hefe, but it had a rich deep banana flavor that wasn’t overpowering.

Tap, and easily one of the best beers in Tennessee. Cloudy, dull, pale yellow color with a creamy white layer engulfing the head. Delicious aroma - strong, forceful clove and pepper phenols amidst a promising fried banana and vanilla crème motif. Some orange and vanilla-lemon accents fill in the rest, and I’ll be damned if Yazoo didn’t just about nail it. Creamy, lighter fairing flavor and mouth feel aided by a fanciful lemon-banana combo. So even-going that it could be mistaken for a smoothie. Easily disperses across the palate with a banana-graham crème wonderment. Has the effervescence, but backs off to allow the flavor to evolve to banana syrup over Italian ice. Touch of sprits and vanilla cream hang around for the finish. Lovely, excellent rendition.

Cloudy light orange. Foamy head that lingered. Fruit nose. Good lacing. Certainly above average hefeweizen to me. Great mouthfeel.
