Nice hop taste to this medium body IPA that is a step closer to perfect. Good grapefruit taste mixed in with something I can’t quite figure out, but it’s their best beer in the series. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Sampled at Noogfest High 5. Pours gold with fluffy offwhite head. The aroma is assertive piney hops with some orange, pineapple, and honey. The flavor is bitter pine with some distant citrus and just a hint of bread. It finishes clean and bitter. Quite a good IPA. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Bottle from Sean. Thanks! The project 13 of this was really good beer, so it was time to try the 14. This one has an off taste at first, and I couldnt really determine what it was, but by the time I tried to figure it out, I was acustomed to it, and it left me with a beer that was really good, and gone really fast. Pours out like the other, orange color, white head, blah blah. Smell is full of hops, grass, and citrus. Nothing else. Taste is weird as I said, but after a few sips its gone, leaving a hoppy, resin filled, IPA. Very solid and easily as good as the 13. Thanks Smitty. NachlamSie (1644), Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 28, 2009 sampled at Noogfest. Bottled on the 3rd week of April. I had a little taste of this one and luckily managed to get the rest of half of another bottle later on. This stuff smells like God. Super, extra hoppy with lots of grass, pine, light citrus. It is extra dank. The flavor is really, really dry. Loads of biting hops with most emphasis on pine, herbs, grass. The malts are just present enough to provide a vessel for hop display. This is a real IPA. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Bottled Apr Week 3. Poured a hazy amber with a creamy off-white head that has some lasting and good lacing. Nice IPA aromas of grapefruit, pine, and a light caramel background. The flavor is full of citrus grapefruit with a backing of hints of malts and pine. Light body, slightly water, mild bitterness that fades quickly. curly (649), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Pours orange with a slight haze and a frothy beige head. Pine resin, pineapple and assorted citrus aroma. Good strong bitterness but also enough malt to balance well. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Bottle courtesy of BeerHawk. Pours a hazy amber with a one finger white head with spotty lacing. The nose is fresh citrus and toffee. The taste is tangerine, orange peel and pink grapefruit with some yellow grapefruit bit rounding it out and sticking around to keep the riff raff out. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Very good IPA – thanks again Steve! davidajensen (31), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

The Hop Project Series has been something totally different however. Hop Project #14 smells great, has a nice golden haze, and the hops are fantastic. Let’s put Nashville beer on the map!
