Commercial Description:
For this baby, we used Zeus and Galena for first wort bittering, Goldings, Galena, and Columbus at 30 minutes left in the boil, Simcoe and Cascade at the end of the boil, and dry-hopped with Cascade and Simcoe after four days in the fermenter. The bitterness is a little more up-front in this one, compared to others before it.

Bottle shared at Noogfest High 5. Poured clear dark amber color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. This is a solid drinkable brew.

Bottle, sampled at Noogfest High 5. The body was dark amber with an off white head. The aroma was celery with some bread crust. The taste was bread crust with some almonds. There was also some bitter grapefruit that came through after some drinking.

12 oz bottle thanks to jcwattsrugger! Pours a slight hazy orange with a moderate whitish head and good lace. Aroma is a bit oldish- citrus hops, orange oils, grassy and green hops, tea-like with a moderate crystal and toast malt backbone. Flavor is lemon, tea, earth and grassy hops, toast, a bit stale, crackery and cardboard with some oxidation and a moderate overall bitterness- lightly harsh cohumulone-ish. Ok.

Pours with a golden orange body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet yet better with lots of grapefruity and a little resinous hops with underlying fruit notes. Medium bodied, well carbonated and warming.

Deep copper pour with fluffy off white head and lace. Evergreen and bread on the nose. Bready/fruity flavor with a very nice EG hop kicker. Medium/full bodied with good carbonation just a hint of thin held me back a tad.

Sampled at Noogfest High 5. Pours gold with fluffy offwhite head. The aroma is assertive piney hops with some orange, pineapple, and honey. The flavor is bitter pine with some distant citrus and just a hint of bread. It finishes clean and bitter. Quite a good IPA.

Bottle at the second BA Tasting and follow up bottles from Whole Foods. Pours orange amber with an off white head. Great aroma (this was just bottled) of citrus and floral hops, with some faint toffee-esque malt in the background. Good up front flavor of pale malts and bitter grapefruity hops, but finishes with grassiness and lots of a celery like vegetal flavor, which I don’t dig (it goes away some as it warms). Mid palate is lacking something that I can’t pinpoint at the moment. I like 12 and 13 much better.
