Commercial Description:
The tan lace clings to the glass as you raise the pint to your lips. Close your eyes and smile as the rich espresso notes fade to a dry, roasted finish. Exceptionally smooth and satisfying. Made with English Pale malt, roasted barley, black patent malt, and flaked barley. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Target hops, and fermented with our English ale yeast.

Draught at Village Co-op in Nashville. Surprising, sweet, mellow, toasty. Good mouthfeel, though not creamy. Laces well, beautiful color (black). Heehe. Good stout.

Draft at Mellow Mushroom in Murfreesboro. Black in the glass with a creamy tan head that leaves decent lacing. Nice smokey aroma with chocolate malt background. The flavor was of coffee, milk chocolate, and lightly smoked. Medium body. An awesome Tennessee offering. Needs to be bottled!

Had on tap at the brewroom the other night for the first time in about a year and had forgotten how good this stout is. It has a different type of tast than most stouts and is hard to describe. A nice smoky aroma and nice roasty taste.

GABF 06 <P> Aroma features dry cocoa and toasted/roasted malts. Flat black body with a thick mocha head. Mild roast elements appear first on the initial sip then chocolate, grainy cereal notes tastes more like a sweet stout than a dry stout though it certainly has a coarser and thicker mouthfeel than a SS. Not truly a bad beer, but it seems to stray pretty far from the Dry Stout recipe book.

A great stout. Arguably the best stout produced in the state of Tennessee. You are rewarded with a great roasted finish with this one. Strong in alcohol.

Purplish color with lacing sticky head. Chocolate Popsicle nose with sherbet filling. Flavor is a bit sour with a raspberry tea like taste. . Really liked the finish, chocolate cheesecake like finish. Even with all the sweetness it does finish dry. Active carbonation. 3 6 3 4 8

Rich, malty, smokey, slightly sweet raisinette aroma. Very dark, big tan head. Not sweet, tart, somehow simultanteously rich but going vacant. Smokey, creosote. Finishes sausagey. Medium-heavy mouth. A great compliment to cheese and salami.

This was the fourth Yazoo beer I tried at the Flying Saucer in Nashville and is the best so far. Not as strong or creamy as other stouts but it had a nice complex flavor that went down well.
