Commercial Description:
The tan lace clings to the glass as you raise the pint to your lips. Close your eyes and smile as the rich espresso notes fade to a dry, roasted finish. Exceptionally smooth and satisfying. Made with English Pale malt, roasted barley, black patent malt, and flaked barley. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Target hops, and fermented with our English ale yeast.

Black, thin brown head. Really pronounced coffee aroma, with notes of prune. Tastes a bit sweeter than I was expecting, with nice flavors of coffee and smoked bacon (no, really). Dries out in the finish. Nicely enjoyable stout. Draft at the Flying Saucer, Nashville.

Rich, malty, smokey, slightly sweet raisinette aroma. Very dark, big tan head. Not sweet, tart, somehow simultanteously rich but going vacant. Smokey, creosote. Finishes sausagey. Medium-heavy mouth. A great compliment to cheese and salami.

Pitch black coloured body with a creamy medium-sized light brown head. Aroma of malt and little else. Full-bodied; Strong tastes of coffee and roasted malt linger throughout the mouthful and some sugar prevails at the end, but a very simple finish. Overall, a nice example of a dry stout, especially from Tennessee! I had this beer on draught at the Flying Saucer in Nashville, Tennessee.

GABF 06 <P> Aroma features dry cocoa and toasted/roasted malts. Flat black body with a thick mocha head. Mild roast elements appear first on the initial sip then chocolate, grainy cereal notes tastes more like a sweet stout than a dry stout though it certainly has a coarser and thicker mouthfeel than a SS. Not truly a bad beer, but it seems to stray pretty far from the Dry Stout recipe book.
