Commercial Description:
A new version of an American classic. Our Yazoo Pale Ale bursts with spicy, citrusy hop aroma and flavor, coming from the newly discovered Amarillo hop. The wonderful hop aroma is balanced nicely with a toasty malt body, ending with a cleansing hop finish. Made with English Pale, Munich, Vienna, and Crystal malts, and generously hopped with Amarillo, Perle, and Cascade hops. Fermented with our English ale yeast.

Draft - Poured hazy yellowish-orage in color with a medium white head. Aroma was medium of both grassy and citrusy hops. Flavor is mostly of hops (which I like), but it needs some additional malt balance. Medium bitter and bitter on the finish. Good, but not great.

Pours a hazy orange. Aroma is not as citrusy as I would have liked, aroma is slightly of deodorant and grass. Smooth malty body, surprisingly malty. I wish the aroma were better, otherwise a solid session beer.

Poured a golden amber color without much of a head. Nice hoppy/citrusy aroma. Goes down smooth - a nice apa. Enjoyed it and would drink more if it was available locally.

On tap at South Street in Nashville. A solid APA. Nothing jumped out, but they did’nt screw it up either. Nice golden copper color with thin head. Assertive hoppiness. Went well with the fish I had. No complaints. I would seek it out again if I were in Nashville.

Pours a reddish amber color. No head to speak of. Smell is of moderate hops, nothing else. Taste is amarillo hops, and some more amarillo hops. Not overbearing, but representin’. It gets to be a tad bit cloying and astringent. I’d imagine this would be a nice hot day on the patio kind of pale ale. Not a bad offering. Thanks to Illinismitty for this brew.

Draft. Has a citrusy smell to it and not much of an appearnce to me (or at least nothing out of the ordinary). Flavor was ok and the overall brew was just ok for me. I enjoyed this one better than Sierra Nevada pale ale though.

Bonus bottle from illinismitty. Thanks Sean... Yazoo Pale Ale is goldenrod in color and is pretty clear. Actually, it has a spectrum of colors ranging from amber and the bottom to orange/honey in the middle and golden yellow at the top. The head is cream-colored and disipates quickly. The carbonation looks like and upside down rainstorm since it is comprised of multisized bubbles rising at different rates from the bottom. Quite interesting and somewhat hypnotic. Citrus and grapefruit burst from the juicy aroma. The flavor has some lightly toasted biscuit and caramel malt and grapefruit hops. The finish is spicy with some grass and floral notes. It is also a bit more dry and has a moderate level of bitterness. The body and palate are average. Overall this is a pretty good pale ale. 12 oz bottle (Bottled Dec, Week 4, 2006).
