Commercial Description:
A new version of an American classic. Our Yazoo Pale Ale bursts with spicy, citrusy hop aroma and flavor, coming from the newly discovered Amarillo hop. The wonderful hop aroma is balanced nicely with a toasty malt body, ending with a cleansing hop finish. Made with English Pale, Munich, Vienna, and Crystal malts, and generously hopped with Amarillo, Perle, and Cascade hops. Fermented with our English ale yeast.

On tap at Broadway Brewhouse and Mojo Grill (Downtown) in Nashville. Poured golden, with a white head. Floral, citrusy aroma and taste, with a mildly hoppy finish.

Sampled at the 2006 Southern Brewers Festival. Copper-orange color with no head. Soapy earthy aroma. While the flavor of this one has a lot going on, spice, tangerine, grapefruit, earthiness, it is a bit muddled overall. Semi-dry, medium body. This was an OK beer produced by a really nice brewer. Linus spent some time talking to me about his applications for Ammarilo hops. Good times.

Slightly hazy orange and ruby red colored body. Slightly grassy hops note, branch and bark-like, buttery, leafy nose with some gritty wheat and malt notes. Reminds me of SNPA at times. Dry and bitter throughout, with some grassy, piney flavors. Moderate thickness for a pale ale. Overall very refreshing and fruity, with proper bittering levels. Well made. Bottle purchased in Nashville.

A solid pale. Lacks complexity...smooth citrus flavors..could use a little more hops for my taste. A slightly better than average pale ale.

12oz bottle via trade with Beer_Hawk - Thanks Steve! - Pours cloudy amber with a creamy offwhite head that stays pretty well and laces some. Nice aroma of earthy citrus hops and a touch of floral as well. Flavor is kind of disappointing though as not many of those hops find their way through. Light grainy flavor with lots of carbonation. Just a touch of the bitterness is there on the finish but not much. The carbonation in this really kills the flavor an leaves it tasting like soda.

This beer has a cleaner taste than most American pale ales. Not the generic hops n’ earth microbrew taste found in many pale ales, especially the less satisfying western brews. But it’s an acquired taste with a sharp edge to it, on the tart side of citrusy. Finish is clean, aftertaste minimal for a pale ale. This is a strong beer in it’s alcohol content.
