Commercial Description:
A new version of an American classic. Our Yazoo Pale Ale bursts with spicy, citrusy hop aroma and flavor, coming from the newly discovered Amarillo hop. The wonderful hop aroma is balanced nicely with a toasty malt body, ending with a cleansing hop finish. Made with English Pale, Munich, Vienna, and Crystal malts, and generously hopped with Amarillo, Perle, and Cascade hops. Fermented with our English ale yeast.

Near clear golden light amber pour with petri dish off-white head. Fruity hop nose. Hint of earthy smokiness in the flavor. Sweet hop finish with a small bite.

on tap-pours a rich thin white head with lots of lace and yellow/gold color. Aroma is mild citrus-lemon hops. Taste is mild citrus-lemon hops/slight bitter, balanced medium malt-sweet. Smooth, easy.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting at Dogbricks on 12/4/08. Ran out of porters, so we moved on to whatever else was in the house. Pours a clear gold with a minimal white head. Dank and malty aroma that is overly acidic. Flavor is pretty much the same. Not a fan of this one.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: This brew is a clear orange color that has a rosy hue. Thin and fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppy with a touch of citrus. Medium-bodied with a flavor that is a case study in Amarillo hops, as that is more or less the only flavor aside from a bit of malt. The finish is clean and hoppy with a short hops and fruit aftertaste. Just average overall.

Draft. The hops in this APA are overshadowed by sweet malts. Copper/amber color with short, white head. The aroma is grainy with a hint of grass and lemon. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet. The finish is lightly bitter. Medium body and watery to sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Off-balance throughout.

Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Hoping this is the right two of their APAs. Clear deep yellow and a nice but thin frothy white head. Malty caramel and light malts. Some piney hops and a dry bite. Good APA. Re-rate on tap at the brewery. Clear yellow-orange with a thin soapy white foam. Basic caramel malt and light citrus hops. Taste is much the same. Bottle back from Nashville this last weekend. Smells of grass a little pine and some fruit. Flavor is more toasted grain/malt than hops but there is a bit of a metallic hop finish. Would like some much bigger hop flavors though. Pours a clear golden color with almost no head.

Tap at the Nashville tap room. Poured a clear gold color with a two finger white head. Aroma of citrusy hops and a yeasty smell. Flavor is crisp with balanced hop/malt combinations. This beer is tons better on tap.
