Aroma of yeast and funky esters. Flavor of Rye, lemon, and spice. Slight phenolic finish. Interesting concept, but this is not working for me. Perhaps I need to revisit. allfreej (375), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Refreshing change of pace, but not really a winter beer. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2009 12 oz bottle from Frugal MacDoogal’s. Poured a slightly hazy gold color with a three finger white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma was similar to what I expected from a saison with a fruity/funky note, with spices (cloves) present too. Flavor was spicy and interesting. The rye added a peppery taste. Fruit was also present on the tongue. I was impressed with this brew. Linus and the gang keep churning out the good, inventive and different brews. Barrios (858), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Draft at tap room. Cloudy dark pale in the glass with an off-white head that left light lace. Fruit aroma with lots of spice backing...clove mostly picked out. It continues with a fruity flavor mixed with some rye and a pepper background. Slightly metallic in flavor. Medium body that starts sweet but got a little tart.
