| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Cloudy brownish amber, and a thin foamy beige head. Definate rye aromas up front, with some more typical saison funk in the background.Very tart flavor at first, then a mix of rye, lemon and herbs. Seems a little odd, but I liked it. Pours with a weak orange, thin body with a straw-heavy wheat aroma. Flavor is lemon, coffee, and cold medicine. Bubbly mouthfeel. Not very good. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Sweet candy malt, fruity aroma.
Lightly sweet yet not overly complex.
Somewhat middle of the road for the style, but a beer that is well done and it is certainly nice to see the effort from a local brewer.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Bottle, shared by NachlamSie. Pours gold with sticky off-white head. The aroma is fruity with noticeable rye; there’s some pear, lemon, peach, coriander, and plenty of sweetness, too. The flavor is rye and light honey and a somewhat bracing fruit and spice combo that makes my jaw twitch at first, but I come to like it after a few sips. It gets more mellow the more I drink. The finish is tropical with a little bit of dryness. Decent. illinismitty (1800), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Draft at brewery. Pours hazy amber with a retentive off white head. Aroma of yeast and funky esters. Flavor of Rye, lemon, and spice. Slight phenolic finish. Interesting concept, but this is not working for me. Perhaps I need to revisit. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 28, 2009 Clear orange-yellow with a big soft off white head. Aroma is spicy rye malt, sweet, some light fruitiness, esters. Taste is a nice fruitiness from the yeast that plays with the peppery rye malt. Solid and spicy. A cool saison. Orange citrus aroma with hints of white pepper spice. Flavor is orange peel, a twinge of sourness, and a little hop spice. Medium thin body with moderately high carbonation. Refreshing change of pace, but not really a winter beer.
