Great clear chestnut body with red highlights and good light tan sustainable head. Light coffee and toasted malt aroma. Biscuit, toasty, nutty, earthy flavors. Very good at first, but didnt hold up as I drank more of it. Pretty good though. jcwattsrugger (5563), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2008 had this off draft from a tasting recently. the appearance is definitely porter. it’s aroma is very dark and mysterious, a little bit of chocolate and hints of coffee, but also more caramel and roasted malt flavors shining through. I paired this with a smoked brat, and the two couldn’t have been more harmonious unless it was dipped in dark chocolate. The rye, while noticed, did not add nor detract too much from the overall flavor of the beer. I personally think this is my favorite brew by Linus and crew. Spicy mouthfeel with a balanced sweet/dry finish. This brew is on the higher end of ABV offered by Yazoo. This beer is my personal favorite, but the recipe is very similar to other microbrewed Rye Ales in other parts of the country.
