Nice and rich..chocolaty. Like the stout, you will not find a better brewed porter in middle Tennessee in my opinion. Kevin (1920), Colorado, USA

Light roasty sweet flavor. Finishes with a candy sweetness and herbal bitter. A bit sticky but worked well with my jambalaya.

Complex, nutty, moderately astringent, light cocoa, mild-ish. Extra smooth and frothy. Dark ruby brown. Moderately fruity at times. Medium-light sweetness. Very good - I really enjoyed it. This was the best one on the Yazoo flight at the Flying Saucer in Nashville. I had to order another one after the 5oz sample. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 18, 2006 Tap. Translucent, glassy ruby/mahogany color with a lovely blanketing and = creamy khaki grayish-tan hued head. Pumpernickel, cocoa, pecans, hazelnuts and mild chocolate moderately entice the nose but leave much to the imagination. Baileys & cream flavor whisks away like said cocktail, only sitting in an ice cube inundated glass for about an hour. Principally a chocolate-rye malt display. Creamy hazelnut interpretations move it to sway more towards a Frangelico libido. Scotch and peat mildly spice near the end, but we’ve pretty much thrown in the towel on porter and rye traits and are now affectionately predisposed to the crème liquor characteristics. illinismitty (1809), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Nice flavor of rye, chocolate, and dark roasted malt. Rye definitely comes out in the semi dry finish, with some faint notes of spice, bitter chocolate, and hops. Medium bodied with a silky mouthfeel. Nicely balanced, and I think this is Yazoo’s best beer. A great session beer that is worthy of being in a tasting lineup, as long as you like rye beers...which I do.. Linus, if you are reading this, bottle this stuff. It’s good and I’d like to share it with other ratebeerians.
