Pours a dark amber in color with barely any head. Smells of molasses. The flavor is not very well balanced; the malts are a tad overwhelming. It went flat after only 15 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours a clear chestnut brown with a small ring of head; looks a bit like flat Pepsi. Gives off a mostly pleasant aroma of toasted grains and brown sugar punctuated by alcohol and a slight tartness. Smells stronger than its indicated 4.4%ABV. Flavor is nutty dry grain at first, then the ample malt comes forth to smooth out the dryness a bit. The slight tartness that showed up in that aroma also makes an appearance on the palate. Body is medium-full with a pretty thick palate. I don’t know if the tartness was by design as some English browns feature a slight tartness or if it’s from the fact that this sample is well over 3 years old and wasn’t always stored in optimal conditions. But in either case it held up pretty well considering I figured it might be undrinkable by now.

Extra in trade, from i forget? BM me. Dark amber, decent off-white head. Aroma is full of toffee. Smeels like the house, when boiling a starter. Flavor lacks a little compared to aroma, but decent. Toffee and faint buttery (not infected) nuts. Creamy smooth mouthfeel. Decent brown for sure, easy drink, make a nice fall session. Actually going to finish the bottle, which is more than I can say for most browns.

Courtesy of Degarth Medium brown color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is nutty, malty and sweet. A medium bodied brown ale. Malts are malty and sweet. Touch of toffee. Slightly spicy hops. Nicely balanced. A lighter tasting brown ale. A touch thin in the mouth and kind of mild in flavor. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Clear brown with an off-white head, little retention and lacing. There are some very sweet malt and toffee aromas going on in this which I found to be pretty good. First taste is a little light, but some nice sweet flavors come through quickly and finishes with a bit of nutty flavors. Medium carbonation and body. Thanks to Degarth for the bottle.

Pours nice brownish red with a thick white head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, and malt. Taste is medium bodied with a smooth malt flavor and hints of coffee. Fairly solid brown ale.

Bottle courtesy of BigMilly8. Highly carbonated pour...traditional brown ale body with thin, quickly dissolving head. Sweet, caramely, malty aroma is very pleasant. Flavor is relatively sweet with some hints of roasted nut. Leaves nothing more than a sugary flavor on the after-palate. Main detractor is a very watery body for a brown ale...very light/pale lagerish. However, the beer is not offensive in any manner and would be pretty sessionable if you were in the mood.
