[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and smoke. Taste is a lot of coffee with the light bitterness that usually comes with it and a smokiness in the end. Medium mouthfeel. Long finish. A good beer.

Skyview was good enough to bring back this hand filled bottle. Dark brown color and low carbonation. Moderate smoke aroma with peat. Flavor has malt and strong roasted grain and light smoked meat. The peat is there as well, and the smoke shows itself again. The best product I have had from Yellowstone Valley.

Received a 12-oz hand-bottled from the brewery owner in Billings, Montana. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick, creamy off-white head that has some good retention the dissolves to a thick ring with some thick lacing. Aroma of dark toasted and smoked black malt, smoked peat, and a touch of flowery hops. Taste is medium to full bodied, very light carbonation with flavors of semi-sweet dark malt, a touch of dark chocolate and toffee. Finish is smooth, creamy with a decent semi-sweet and smoked malt flavor. After taste has a mild bitter finish which compliments the smoked malt flavor. Quite impressive!

Many thanks to skyview for sharing. Lightly smoked peat on the nose. Dark brown body with faint head. Strong peated malt body with a faint watery finish.
