Bottled BBE 25/12/08, sampled 10/03/09 Dull copper, citrus notes on the nose alongside a not unpleasant sweetness. Still feisty all these months later, liked the balance with the sweet malts standing up to a smooth citric feel. Enjoyable on a cold spring evening in Derby, possibly even better at The Ostrich or the George - or at Yetmans itself!

Cask conditioned at Norwich Beer Fest ’08. Copper colour with slight white head. Light and bittersweet beer, good British hopped on the finish, but a thin body, quite watery. reasonable without hitting the heights.

Cask at The George Hotel, Cley-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk, 27-04-07. Pours a fairly standard brown colour, with a slight citrusy hoppy nose. Taste was pleasantly bitter but also quite a soft mouthfeel good hops and sweet malt tasting, refreshing and would make a nice session beer.

A mid brown coloured beer with a weak white head. A clean balanced aroma of citrusy hop and sweet malt. A bitter taste, tangy hops to start, citrusy, then a rounded malt flavour giving a wonderfully balanced finish to a traditional ale (Bottle - The Ostrich, South Creake, Norfolk).

Conditioned bottle. Dark colour. Malty aroma and strong caramel taste. Very creamy and smooth on palate with no edge. Not at all dry like the commercial description, but plenty of crystal malt flavour. Would definitely buy again.
