Commercial Description:
Cask; Special.
This new beer has been brewed especially for this JDW beer festival. It has an inviting reddish colour and pleasing aroma, leading to a malty and slightly dry flavour and leaving a lingering, pleasant aftertaste. Hops used: Bramling Cross, Saaz

The Baron. Foggy copper draped with lace. Hazelnut and damp leaves aroma dusted with choc. Another one of those reddish, slightly dank Crystal malt-infused (probably) efforts hinting at sesame, chocolate, vinous fruit... unexciting but pretty good.

Cask Handpump at the Swim Inn JDW, Sheffield 14/11/2009 Lots of fruit aroma. Copper coloured and fruity with some alcohol present. A little sourness in a hoppy bitter and slightly peppery lasting malt finish.

Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End. Copper with a beige head. Well balanced fresh bitter with a roasty edge and fresh hoppy finish. I always enjoy beers from this brewer.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Darkish amber with slight head. Sour fruits dominated this, tartish cherry, acidic and a little unpleasant. Probably not at its best in this Spoons. Not particularly good.

Cask conditioned handpump Saracens Head Daventry. A copper coloured beer with a red hue and a thick whitish head and lacing. The aroma is flowery fruity whilst the taste is fizzy fruity. Berry notes throughout from the Bramling Cross. A hint of acidity maybe. It’s ok but nowt special.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 3/11/09. Deep amber in colour with a moderate white head. Malty aroma of red currants and caramel, with some earthiness and bitter finish. Ok.

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber brown with a cream head. Aromas are cookie dough with berries and citrus. Some weetabix with yeast and earthy hops. Flavours are toffee and chocolate with peppery light pine and grapefruit hops. Green apple with a fair degree of acidity. Earthy with some tea, A decent traditional bitter.
