Commercial Description:
Cask; Occasional. Scheduled for October 2005 but also appears at other times of year.
A well balanced dark bitter, lots of body. Tasty, warming and moresome.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber with a small white head. Barnyardy straw taste, followed by a beautiful sweet maltiness with a distinct and slightly sour fruitiness. A pleasant mid bitter finish. Mixed opinions on this beer. I see where the criticism is coming from, but I thought the overall effect was excellent.

Cask @ York Brewery, november 07. Clear, very dark copper color with some orange hues and a medium white head. Roasted peanuts with some caramel notes flavor and a dry mineral finnish. Medium to light palate, coating flavor with mineral notes. Warming, dry finnish. Nice cross between toffee and roasted peanuts on the nose. Quite good mild.

Cask dispense @ Freshfield Hotel, Formby 2006 Beer Festival. Beer of the festival ( out of 25) for me. Fullbodied, dark appearance, with sweetness and bitterness well balanced. Very much in the ESB mold and well suited to cold winter evenings in front of the roaring pub fire(s). Another winner from a fine brewery.

A little interesting, it was dark, and a little sweet in aroma, very hopy but different in that smelling.
