A clean hoppy aroma with hints of caramel and honey. The flavour is bitter hoppiness, finished though with a caramel smoothness and a hint of cough candy! (Bottle). | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2006 Medium ruby brown, good head fades quickly and almost completely. Light caramel aroma. Light to medium palate, bordering on thinnish. Caramel, a hint of toffee, and a touch of apple. Undefined hop bitterness on the finish. Understated. Not bad, just didn’t really do much for me. harmfuldrunk (288), New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 18, 2006 From a distinctive shaped 1pt.9oz. Young’s brown bottle with 5.2% abv on the front label and a blurb about the ale with a "Best Before" date on the back label, 28/Jun/06. Made a very good appearance, poured a copper brown with a large foamy pale tannish/white head that left some ringed sticking. Had a bready and slightly cedary hop aroma with a touch of earthy yeastiness. Good carbonation and a creamy medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Had a sweet lightly roasted malt flavor, a little toastiness too, a buried earthy yeastiness, a gentle cedary, citric hop bitterness and a semi-dry bready finish with a little earthiness lingering in the palate.
