Aroma is light caramel, some apple esters. Taste is bitter hops, minerals, slight diacetyl. Finish is grainy, toasted and smooth. Held up better than most English beers. ghawener (963), San Salvador, El Salvador

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 27, 2006 Pours a rich red/amber color with a light cream head that dissipated quickly. Aroma of malts, nuts and honey. Very light hop aroma. Very crisp taste, with good bitterness. Tasted quite cool in my mouth. Light-medium body. Has an unpleasant harshness/bite that made the beer less drinkable. Its ok being that it has more interesting elements to it, though nothing super special. RAYBOY01 (1851), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 25, 2006 Fairly strong nutty roasted malt flavor and a hint of fruitiness, with some hints of floral hopping but way too timid and pale for my taste.. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2006 The aroma is like having my hands cut off. I’m not feeling it. There is just nothing there at all. Tea colored with a mostly fading tan head. Sweet malty affair that gets very fruity, and I’ll admit tasty, in the middle before fading away to little more than the suggestion of bitterness. That grape/apple middle is nice, but there isn’t much else tou cheer for. ahole (38), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 20, 2006 This is one of my new favorites. A very good malty taste with a hint of sweetness like caramel or those roasted sugar coated nuts that they sell at county fairs. Great brown gold with a nice tan head. Not too think, but not so thin that it washes away like water.
An excelent drink.
