Finishes with a lingering mild bitterness. Nice dark copper color with a malty aroma - another winner from youngs! radiomgb (2034), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Bottle. Deep copper in colour, thin dissipating white head, some lingering lace. The aroma was of weak malts (some light caramel, earthy, nuts), some grass, slightly sweet. The flavour had some toffee, slightly sweet, some floral hops. Bitter mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. FInishes fairly light, mild bitterness. willblake (2182), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 21, 2005 08.21.05 500ml bottle best before 01/2006. Dark red-amber pour below and ample khaki head of fine bubbles, fading surprisingly quickly. Aroma is plain, dry grass, peas, nutty grain in background. Flavor is quite unremarkable, in fact reminding me a bit of ODouls Amber. Bitter hints from hops, also metallic and mineral to some degree. Certainly nothing to get worked up over, but a better alternative than most of what I saw on the shelf today. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Nice reddish hint of color in this very nice looking ale. Head stays around a little and will lace the glass. Taste is full of malt and hops and they are balanced nicely. Enjoyable ale! PattyBoy (302), North Liberty, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2005 Pours a reddish brown with an off-white head with lacing. Nose is light, but pleasant with caramel malt and fruit. Flavor is slightly muted but good, more caramel malts, toffee, dark fruits, mild citrusy hops, finishes slightly sweet. I thought this had a nice creamy feel to it. I think it’s better than some of the low ratings it has received, but it might not be worth the price I paid for it SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 6, 2005 500 ml bottle from Whole Foods. Pours clear chestnut color with a moderate to large off-white head that leaves a trace of lace. Aroma is subdued to almost non-existent, with just floral hop traces detectable to me. Flavor is also mild with light biscuity malts and a nice crisp, bitter hop profile with a bit of citrus and herbiness, but leaving a pleasant tingling feeling in the mouth. Light body and gentle yet tingly carbonation. Good for what it is and definitely easy to drink. BeerandBlues2 (3225), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Bottle. Pours nut brown, hazelnut to be more specific, some copper tones, and has a small frothy tan head that dissipates to a rocky film floating on top for its duration; lined lacing. Aroma is mellow caramel malt, a tad soapy, with a faint citrus hop nose. Somewhat sour citrus hop flavor with a caramel malt body. Medium bodied and slightly fizzy palate. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 1, 2005 Off-white head that was average when poured then diminished but lasted for the entire drink. Good lacing also. At first there was a hint of molasses and butterscoth but then strong hoppy aromas. The flavor was bitter throughout. Light to medium body, maybe a bitter watery.
