Aroma was caramelly malt with a hint of hop. Appearance was nice dark amber with a smallish head that quickly vanished. Flavour is lightly malty with a tiny bit of roatiness finishing with a hint of fruit and a pleasant hop bitterness. Fairly highly carbonated and a little thin but doesn’t loose anything toward the end.

Bottle: Aroma is all malts and fruit. Pours a transparent amber with a small head that is gone quickly. Malty, fruity, caramel flavors. Overall not a very strong flavored beer. Sweet aftertaste. Decent beer.

Dirty Dick indeed. That guy onn the bottle long looked like someone that was looking for a hand out. Well, he got it and I got this in return. Not so terrible a deal as it was on sale, just not near as good as other Young’s.

Dark red amber with a short lived frothy head. Honey, malt and smoked oak aroma. Distinct hoppy bitterness and a long aftertaste.

Coppery hue with initial good frothy head which faded into a small ring, some lace. The aroma hints of grassy and floral hops, light caramel and toffee malting, and earthy yeast esters. The taste is mostly of a smooth bitter nature surronded by sweet malts and a smoky tone. A touch of apple and pear notes. The finish is subdued bitter and earthy qualities. The mouthfeel is thin and watery, not to crisp but not flat either. Overall a quaffable unassuming beer.

Bottled. Best before April 2003. Very mellow, subtle use of the hops and malt. Reddish hue. The finish is slightly bitter. Pretty boring. If I ever have this again it will only be from a cask. Drinkable; mildly enjoyable.
