This was a really mild and almost weak ale. Good, but hard to judge. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 17, 2004 Bottle. Copper brown color with a thin head that manages to leave a ring to the finish. Fruity and malty aroma with a little floral hops and basement floor in the background. Slightly sweet malt flavor with some roasted malt and fruit. Has an earthy hop character and a little butter in the background. Well balanced. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and a quick fairly dry finish. I liked this. Can you say session beer? howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA

Spicy, herbal hop aromas. Butterscotchy, caramel malt flavors with firm, spicy hop bitterness. Nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2004 Bottle from Metro Wines, Syston, Leicester. Fruitcake aroma, and red/brown colouring with a deep bed of loose beige froth. Luscious flavour, with some orange and cherry on a background of solid malt, which expands through the finish, becoming very bready. A very tasty darker ale. Better than expected and another good Youngs product. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 27, 2004 Medium amber. Sweeter malt aroma, a little bit of honey. Sweet malt flavor again, light fruit, some hops lurking around. Medium body. Not bad. Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2004 Poured with a massive head that remained as 1/3 of the glass even after a full minute ... nice. Decent caramel aroma and OK roasty/caramel flavors. But the beer is really thin, surprisingly, it's major downfall. dannyboydwp (48), San Antonio, Texas, USA
