This is one of my new favorites. A very good malty taste with a hint of sweetness like caramel or those roasted sugar coated nuts that they sell at county fairs. Great brown gold with a nice tan head. Not too think, but not so thin that it washes away like water. An excelent drink.

This beer rocks. It’s a bit on the sweet side, but, Yum anyway!

Fonder of this than most. Poured to a huge, thick head that sloughed off in sheets. Wonderful nose, a bit spicy, slightly lemony, with some smokiness, almonds, and butterscotch. Love the flavor. Creamy start on the taste carries through to the end. Very complex flavor--get nutmeg, malted milk, butter, toffee, hazelnut, peatiness, and oakiness. Was nicely and toastily enjoyable.

I really loved this beer. It had the winey alcohol nose of like a good barley wine. Crisp nice finish, great pub brew.

Had this beer on 1/22/2003. Color is a deep rich amber with good carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is a light sweet malt scent. Taste is light, malty and mildly toasted. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down smooth and easy with a hint of malt coming on. Finish comes on with a mild toasted malt flavor that flows into a nice full malt taste backed by a mellow bitterness. Overall its just a great brew.
