Pours very dark brown with brown top. Strong bitterish chocolate aroma. Flavor has less chocolate and some very strong roasted malts. Very enjoyable.

Dark brown in color, light brown foamy head, thin pour for a stout. Wonderfully rich aroma of dark bitter chocolate, burnt marshmellows, and coffee. Definite chocolate taste but a tad bitter. I found the palate very dry and way too thin for a stout.

Shapely 500ml bottle. Very dark pour, with a wonderful beige head. This really does smell and tastes like chocolate. Not as dark and bitter as others, in fact, quite milky. Still, not too sweet, but it sacrifices some depth of stoutiness.

Full black color, with beautiful head persistent color coffee-milk.Aroma of ginger that evolves him in creamy. Light body where the bitter chocolate prevails and leaves the clean mouth. Good stout.

Bottle. Black, beige head. Looks like coffee. Gentle singed aromas of cocoa, malt and milk. Bursts of good chocolate across the board - there’s nutty sweetness, really silky mouthfeel, high semi-bitter notes and clean vanilla. There must be some acidity here because it remains light on the palate despite all the things that should make it cloying. Never seems like a novelty, but maybe it’s a bit too well integrated: once you accept its lack of flaws and go looking for what makes it special, given that it works, it doesn’t say much. Still, quite lovely.

500 ml bottle- Pours black with a decent tan head, aroma is of malt extract. The flavor is exceptional, it has a mild chocolate taste at first, but after the swallow you get the most authentic chocolate flavor i’ve had, probably because they use real dark chocolate. If they made an Imperial version of this beer it might possibly be the greatest thing ever.

First Review. Bottle. Certainly lives up to its double chocolate name, dark pour and nice head. A beer I would recommend to almost anyone.

Bottle. Pours jet black with a creamy tan head that lasts for ages. Creamy aroma is dominated by chocolate: cocoa, milk chocolate; but also has hints of roasted malt underneath. Flavour also has noticeable chocolate but it doesn’t dominate like in the aroma; there are also notes of roasted malt, vanilla, caramel as well as hints of coffee and hops. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a surprisingly low level of sweetness and a short dry finish. I always really liked this stout and am happy to find that this hasn’t changed. A great brew.
