larryLSB (139), La Selva Beach, California, USA May 16, 2009 Draft, at 99 Bottles. Dark chocolate brown, almost black, with the creamiest medium large head. Nose of chocolate, with a hint of dark coffee. Subtle sweet taste, dry to the finish. Overall very good.
zeek (12), British Columbia, Canada May 16, 2009 Looks like and pours like a regular stout, the appearance is good. The nose is very sweet, but the initial taste has a slight bitterness to it. Finishes with a nice after-taste.
This is a great beer and very drinkable. vinerd (17), Orlando, Florida, USA May 15, 2009 Smells like a chocolate milk shake maybe with a little bit of coffee. Pours dark brown with a frothy brown head. Flavor is sweet and chocolatey with some roasty too. Smooth and creamy. An awesome beer.
Nail (11), Georgia, USA May 14, 2009 This is a wonderful chocolate stout. The aroma is of a deep rich chocolate, the head is creamy. Highly recommend adding 2 oz. ofLindemans Framboise for a delicious after dinner drink. abcfan (244), New Jersey, USA May 13, 2009 One of my favorite chocolate stouts. Pours black with creamy tan head. Notes of bitter dark chocolate throughout. Bitter finish. Markys (64), Stockholm, Sweden May 9, 2009 Coffee-like colour with a creamy tan head. Aroma is obviously chocolate. It’s also a very flavorful beer. Flavors of dark chocolate and some coffee. The aftertaste is a little dry, and has quite a bitterness to it. I loved it. cmillward (418), Orlando, Florida, USA May 9, 2009 Can. Pours a this, red brown black that’s fairly translucent. Smallish yet creamy off-white head. Nose is fairly chocolatey, some caramel, quite sweet. Chocolate and caramel in mouth,. Impression of some alcohol in the nose, though I can’t figure out why this is since this is under 6%. Sweet with a toasted grainy malt character. Body thin, typical of an English stout. Good for cooking with. Makes an excellent chocolate stout pudding. yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA May 6, 2009 Bottle of normal carbonation example (not nitro can).
Pours very dark brown to near black with off-colored head. Nose is rich with chocolate, both dark and milk. Palate carries a huge chocolate influence, perhaps one of the few beers that just is like chocolate itself and not a mere resemblance. Carbonation is not bad.
Finish is sweet, almost too sweet. Good dessert beer.
