BVery (445), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA Jan 17, 2009 Updated: Feb 15, 2009BOTTLE, TAP. Choclolate flavor first, then coffee. Black color, toasty chocolate aroma. An excellent stout with big flavor. I like it better on tap. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA Jan 16, 2009 Nice black color with thick creamy head. Get bitter chocolate taste up front with coffee in the end. Great beer although I did get a tad bit metallic taste buy not bad. Really really good stout. Really. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 16, 2009 500 ml bottle, picked out by The Beer Wench. Surprised I haven’t rated this before. Dark brown pour with a thin, light tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder and roasted malts. Flavor was nice. Tons of chocolate with a hint of smokiness. Finish is lightly bitter. Very nice beer. trav2525 (2), Fairport, New York, USA does not count Jan 15, 2009 Enjoyable beer. Very pronounced chocolate taste more so then other chocolate stouts i have tried. From nitro can very nice head and of course amusing sand waterfall creating the head did notice a little metallic taste but that did not take away from the beer. sach918 (8), Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, USA does not count Jan 15, 2009 Nitro Keg and nitrocan. Dark chocolate appearance, moderately tall tan head. Initial flavor of coffee and then choclate when had on tap, yet vice versa when consumed from nitrocan. Also, slight metallic taste from nitrocan. Very comforting to drink-say in a Syracuse snowstorm. Definitely my favorite run of the mill stout. mkel07 (494), Brisbane, Australia Jan 12, 2009 500ml bottle. Poured a thick black colour with a frothy tan head. Aroma and taste of dark chocolate and toasted malts. Smooth, creamy and great tasting. jfb (412), Weihenstephan, Germany Jan 12, 2009 (bottle) pours an almost pure black colour with a bubbly tall brown head. aroma of toasted malts, dark chocolate, brown sugar, sweet caramel and notes of coffee and nuts. flavour is mainly dark and milk chocolate, with accentuating notes of coffee and walnuts. medium body and carbonation, light roasted-bitter finish.
